SACRIFICE...!!

Human history is not only a story of rise and fall of glorious civilization,.achievement, and progressive social evolution,it is also a story of human sufferings and tragedies, sacrifices and ruthless suppressions.
The concept of martyrdom which is the transfusion of blood in the body of the society, has arisen due to these tragedies and sacrifices.

In Muslim history the essential moral message is conveyed most effectively by the martyrdom of Husain ibn Ali, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)and his comrades in battlefield of Karbala(Iraq) some 1400 years ago.It is a peculiarity of his martyrdom that it has converted military into a moral success and spiritual victory.

By the time Husain ibn Ali assumed the supreme leadership of the group formerly led by his grandfather Holy Prophet, the power has been transferred in the hand of unjust Bani Ummayad dynasty which has opposed the peaceful message of Islam in the lifetime of Holy Prophet.

Callous Yazid had absolute power on each and every individual of his empire. He did force people to swear allegiances to him.

Opposed to his injustice and racial, tribal and dynastic imperialism stood a small but resolute group of people led by Husain ibn Ali.

In these circumstances,Husain's personality was supreme not only because he was Prophet's grandson ad son of
Fatima Zehra and Ali, but more so because he stood for human and moral values of Islam, opposed to the exploitation and oppression of under privileged and poor

To remind the people of these human values, Husain with his 71 companions and family died thirsty for three days, fighting injustice in the battlefield of Karbala, giving a strong voice to the poor and oppressed class, which is still echoing in this world.

Every year Muharram is observed across the globe by mourning to commemorate his martyrdom.

Why do i need to prove??

Every pulsating India Pakistan match ends up in exuberance and elation with our triumph most of the times, but the uncanny public discussion after that makes me restless.

It's easy to accept that raw fish tastes good but it's tough to comprehend the doubt on the patriotism of a chap born on the same mother soil.

Having being nurtured in this great motherland of ethics and values, the love for it is so natural and effortless.

After being appalled by collective echoes of profanities for a particular community in night, the 6:00 am tea turned bitter for me when three uniform clad respected soldiers, conveyed their thoughts full of prejudices after reading the headlines of a Hindi daily.

How can someone be so foolish to falsely blame that the Muslim community would have been happy at India's loss??

I wanted to say that patriotism is in our genes,we are the son of the same soil and a thoroughbred as much as they are.
But the hatred in their eyes flunked me to speak, and even to have the third sip of my tea.I moved from that place with the hope that their stagnated thoughts will inshallah change one day.

The question still haunts me. Do i really need to wear my patriotism on the sleeves.
No,not at all.

There has been enough of alienation,I am an integral part of my nation, let them hate as long as they fear.

But in the end it hurts.

Jai Hind.
